Being overweight is a problem in western society and needs to be taken seriously. The health problems that occur from being overweight and obese cause a significant strain on the health care system. Not to mention the impact on the pocket book for medical treatment.
What is unfortunate is that normal weight can be achieved with some dedication and work. The correct information is critical to a person’s success in weight loss.
The sad part is that there is allot of wrong information out there on how to lose weight. Most of the “Fad” diets out there will allow women to lose weight while they are on the program, but they just gain it all back when they go off the diet.
This “yo-yo dieting is very unhealthy. The truth is there is no “one diet fits all” system out there. What works for one person may not work for another. Every person is different and as such has different nutritional needs.
My philosophy about diet is that we need to eat nutritionally dense food. Our modern food is so over processed that our body does not even recognize it as food any more. We need to get back to a more natural diet.
I always recommend that the food we prepare is as close to its natural form as possible. Whole organic foods are what I eat every day.
As I stated before, not all diet works for everyone. I personally cannot eat wheat because I have a digestive sensitivity to it. However, I can eat potatoes with no issues. My problem is not with carbohydrates as a whole only certain types cause me problems.
I cannot tell you what will work for you because I am not you. I can give you some guidelines and you will need to discover what works best for your body. I hope the information provided to you on the upcoming posts will help you in your weight loss journey.
